Galatians 1

It's time! Time to get back into our Bible reading groove! I am really excited about these three books we will be reading. Please be praying that the Holy Spirit will open up your mind to receive all that He wants to show you through His word. Today I am praying for you ladies. The past two days I have been going through some tough stuff and I appreciate how all of you have wrapped me up in your prayers. Ladies, you inspire me and I am learning so much from all of you.

In this day and age, it is important for us as Christians to stand on solid ground. We have to know the truth. We have to know what is theologically correct. The book of John will help us in the days to come. It's the foundation of our faith. I am so glad we started with that book. With so much hype currently centered on "The DaVinci Code", it is a must for all of us to know where we stand. The book is fiction, the movie is fiction. However, many will believe it's message. Paul warns us in Galatians. 1:6 I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who in his love and mercy called you to share the eternal life he gives through Christ. You are already following a different way 7that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who twist and change the truth concerning Christ. 8Let God's curse fall on anyone, including myself, who preaches any other message than the one we told you about. Even if an angel comes from heaven and preaches any other message, let him be forever cursed. 9I will say it again: If anyone preaches any other gospel than the one you welcomed, let God's curse fall upon that person.

I have sat under preaching that I knew was not theologically correct. Many teachers, Pastors and Evangelists teach and preach things that are false. We can never completely trust Man's thoughts. It's like this with my blog. You can not take my commentary as the gospel. I always pray that the Holy Spirit will guide me in my typing. May I never distort God's Word. But again I am human being. We must pray for those in leadership or those that we receive teaching from. I have had Pastors before that I knew were not spending time with Jesus on a daily basis. I don't want a Pastor that is not chasing after my Lord. How about you? We must pray about teaching that we receive. Is it truth?

Our world is full of false prophets, teachers, radio and tv preachers and more! They are in our churches. There are more out there than you think. We must be careful. Listen for the Holy Spirit, He will always guide you in the truth.

Father, I pray that you will expose those that are teaching and preaching their own agenda. I pray that you will put a burning desire in our Pastors to spend time with you so they will be able to teach us the TRUTH. Remind us to pray for them. They need our prayers. Lord please give us ears to hear truth. Give us eyes to see it! Please protect us from false teaching. May we dig deep in your word so we will know the truth. Protect us from being fooled! Thank you Lord for your Word. I pray that you will help all of us women reading Galatians, Ephesians and Philippians to stay committed to this study. Please protect our minds, our bodies, our families. Lord, we need you. I need you! I can't do anything without you! I love you Lord, Jesus.

V9As we have already said, so now I SAY AGAIN: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!

The first time he said it was the verse before. So it was not like it was after a really long message and he was wrapping it up with reiterating that point. No it was so important he said it twice and then added an exclamation point. Saying I want you to understand this people. God does not have anything to do with false teaching.

Good call of the DeVinci will draw many away from the truth. We must know the truth so that we will not be decieved.

I read.

What stood out the most to me was V10 "Obviously, I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant." This just really made me think about who it is everyday I'm really worried about pleasing. Is it really always God I'm trying to please or do I allow people to get in the way? I need to check myself in this area.

V24 And they praised GOD because of me.
When I started blogging I only knew momteacherfriend (Sarah). But I was impressed by Amanda's words so I praised GOD because of her. I did not know her just like the churches of Judea didn't know Paul, but her words were a testimony to her love for GOD. I was just so joyful that there was a woman who was bold enough to post her walk day by day with us.

I love you. Sweet lady.

Good thoughts all around! Just recently I have been telling people "don't believe what I say - just because I said it, ask God what he says".

It's so odd, when you recognize that you can't always even trust yourself. And yet, if you keep pointing people to God, they will find truth there.

Great word Amanda!!

It is true that we must pray for t hose in leadership!
IT is true that we should crave to listen to those who spend time with the Lord.

When I was reading I also thought:
WE are ALL preachers of the Word. So I also pray that we will live our lives in LOVE with God. THat shall guide us.

And that our speeches to others will also be filled with the TRUTH.

Be Blessed!!

Amazing Grace...I was blind but now see.

God is so good. To take a man who was killing Christians, turn his life around, and use him to preach the Gospel. That is a wonderful testimony. God shows me that there is hope for the alcoholics, drug addicts, the "nobodys" of this world. Everyone matters to Him. He can use us, in our most pitiful state, if we just let Him.

Lord, I will continually pray for all the "nobodys" of the world, the people that society has pushed aside. I pray that you would open their eyes that they might see your love and grace that you offer freely. I pray that you would us them and us in a mighty way to further your kingdom, by spreading your Gospel to the lost.

Hey! I'm going to stick with you on this. I love verse 10 -- we are so busy trying to gain man's approval but God is our only audience. It's all about Him and pleasing Him -- His approval. If we follow after God -- chase after God -- then ultimately we will have the favor of man. However, most importantly, favor of God.

Good word from you today.

luv u

Very good reminder...sometimes the Pastor becomes such an icon that the people in the congregation forget he is a human. When a pastor messes up we need to remember Jesus is the AUTHORITY...THE SHEPHERD. Just because a human messed up doesn't make the word of the Lord just proves our own humanity!

I'm so grateful that YOU are chasing after HIM! The Lord is really using you Amanda!

Great post and a great reminder!
